‘Skin print’ 2024 is an original screen print incorporating an ink stain skin print of Bronte’s skin condition. Taken directly from the textures of her skin, it makes her work is even more personal.
Artist statement:
Bronte Teal is an artist based in Yorkshire who works with screenprinting, textiles, and installation.
Her work embodies the experience of living with psoriasis through a process that studies the aggressive nature of the skin condition, while incorporating all aspects of living with it. She creates large scale textile works that furnish spaces with their profound presence and invite visitors to examine their finer details.
Her work is best situated within the gallery space, which delivers a serene and tranquil experience to complement her carefully contemplated colour palette. While her work is entirely concerned with the condition, it doesn’t isolate itself from anyone else wishing to enjoy the experience of the illusory effect that tantalises the senses.
